Nephropathy - The medical term used to describe kidney disease. See diabetic kidney disease.

Neuropathy - The medical term used to describe nerve damage. See diabetic nerve damage.

Non-Insulin dependent diabetes - Another term used to describe type 2 diabetes. See type 2 diabetes.

Obesity - A term used to describe the condition that is more severe than being overweight. When the body is burdened by greater than the normal amount of fat, or having a body mass index of 30 or more.

Oral Glucose Tolerance Test - A test used by health care professionals to diagnose diabetes and pre-diabetes. After the patient has fasted for eight hours or more they are given a high-glucose liquid to drink and then has blood samples drawn every hour for two to three hours. The samples are then compared with a standard to see how the patients body uses glucose over time.
